What are the world's top 10 tequilas by sales?
The answers might surprise you. In 10th place is Cazadores, owned by Bacardi. They sold 12 million bottles in 2022 and grew by 32% in one year. In ninth place is Olmeca, famous for the Olmeca Altos, tequila that's owned by Pernod Ricard. They sold 13.2 million bottles last year.
Number eight is Espolon owned by Campari. They did 15.1 million bottles last year. Number seven is El Jimador owned by Brown-Forman, 20.4 million bottles last year. Number six is Hornitos owned by Beam Suntory. They did 25 plus million bottles. In fifth place is 1800 owned by Proximo Spirits. They did about 30 million bottles in one year. Tied for Third, neck and neck, Casamigos also Don Julio both are owned by the spirits conglomerate Diageo. They did 38.4 million, 750 liter bottles. Each in second place Patron, now owned by Bacardi. They did 42 million bottles. And number one by a mile, our old friend Jose Cuervo, owned by Proximo Spirits as well, they did a massive 110 million bottles sold in 2022 alone. Tequila, it's a big business.
